 Karl J. Weaver is a Washington State based
International business executive with Chinese cultural
and multilingual skills. He has geared his entire professional career
around developing business opportunities through employment as a
marketing and sales strategist promoting the export
of high-tech communications products to Asia-Pacific and Greater China
markets in the emerging Pacific Century. He is also a member of the
Washington State China Relations Council (WSCRC) and Washington Software
Alliance (WSA).
Karl earned a B.S. Degree in Business Management from Salve Regina
University, in 1982, and studied Mandarin Chinese language under
scholarship
from the Taiwan, Ministry of Education from 1982 until 1985 at the
prestigious National Taiwan Normal University, in the Mandarin Training
Center facility, Taipei, Taiwan. Taiwan helped launch his International
business career, and in late 1992, after ten years of combined language and high-tech industry
work experience in Taiwan's Microcomputer mainboard/systems
manufacturing industry, Karl returned to the
USA and settled in Washington State. For the past decade, he has worked
in the Eastside high-tech corridor for
three well-know communications equipment & component manufacturers (Zetron,
Metawave, and Leviton Voice & Data) to promote Washington State exports
of wireless and telecommunications products into Asia-Pacific and
Greater China markets.
In late 1999, he was selected by the Seattle Host Organization and the
U.S. State Department to be the official liaison officer for
the Hong Kong Government's WTO trade delegation, during the 3rd round of
the
 Seattle WTO
ministerial sessions at the
Washington
State Convention Center from December 1st~5th. Karl Hosted and
managed the 25-person Hong Kong delegation for all logistical and
minister-to-minister business meetings.
From
2002~03
Karl
handled
a remote
office
for sales
and
account
management
of
the
Greater
Chinese
markets
for Protura Wireless (Half
Moon
Bay, CA,
start-up)
a, designer
and
manufacturer
of custom-designed
internal
antennas
for
cell
phone
handsets,
smart
phones,
and
PDA
mobile
devices. Karl
traveled
to
Taiwan
and
China extensively
in
support
of
sales
targets
with
existing
clientele
and
new
account
development
of
top
tier
handset
manufacturers.
From2003~04,
Karl
has
delivered
public
speaking,
nationally
and
internationally,
on
the
Global
Smart
Phone
Revolution
as a
Greater
China
wireless market
mobile
device
specialist
for
Newport
Technologies
and
on
the
wireless
connectivity
of
Tablet
PCs
for
the
Leszynski
Group
on
a
nationwide
public
speaking
tour.
In
2004,
Karl was recruited to Freescale Semiconductor as a senior technical
marketer to work on connectivity convergence.
In 2005, Karl was recruited back up to Washington State by
Intrinsyc Software to help launch into Asia “Soleus” . A Windows CE
core-based feature phone operating system targeted to Greater China OEM/ODM
handset manufacturers.
魏卡爾是一位美國華盛頓州的國際商業主管。他了解中國文化，會講中文，是一位掌握國際無線通訊技術，並且將中國語言、企業技能和多元化訓練交流相結合的專業技術及管理人才。自1985年以來，魏卡爾在中國生活並且工作了10年，主要負責銷售和市場拓展工作。在他在中國的職業生涯中，魏卡爾全心致力於向亞太地區，印度及新出現的巨大的中國市場推銷高科技通信產品。
1992年底，魏卡爾回到了美國華盛頓州，自1993年以來，他幫助三家知名的高技術出口公司(Zetron
、Metawave
和Leviton)擴展亞洲市場。2002~2003年期間,
他作為中國客戶管理經理和西雅圖辦公室(微軟)
連絡代表，Protura
無線電公司（一家按客戶要求設計手機內置天線，智能手機，和PDA移動設備設計的製造商）擔任銷售及客戶管理工作。2003年,
他開始了一個名為促進"全球智能手機新時代"
的演講項目，為Leszynski
公司(Bellevue,
WA)
進行全國性演講。2004年中旬開始,
魏卡爾在Freescale半導體（原Motorola
半導體）上班。
 魏卡爾出生在馬薩諸塞州的昆西，他於1982年在Salve
Regina羅德島大學取得了工商管理學士學位，1982—1985年期間，魏卡爾在台灣政府教育部獎學金ROC的資助下，在台北很有聲望的國立台灣師範大學國語教學中心學習普通話。台灣是魏卡爾開始職業生涯的地方，從此和中國結下了不解之緣。在1999年12月，在Leviton
Voice& Data就職期間，在華盛頓州會議中心的第三輪西雅圖WTO部長會議上，卡爾被選為香港WTO商業代表團聯絡官員，負責香港團的一行25人所有後勤工作及部長對部長業務會議的接洽工作“Soleus”2004年魏卡爾取得了華盛頓大學的無線通信技術證明。他同時也是華盛頓州中國聯系委員會和華盛頓州軟件協會的會員。目前卡爾和他的妻子及女兒住在Woodinville,
WA。

2005年，魏卡爾被聘請在華盛頓州英傳信（Intrinsyc Software
）公司協助開發進入亞洲市場“Soleus”，一個基於Windows CE為核心的功能手機操作系統，其目標市場為大中華OEM/ODM手機製造商。 |
